Next Stop: Holiday Shopping

Who knew Union Station didn’t just house trains?

Head over on Friday Dec. 6, or Saturday Dec. 7 for the Norwegian-American Holiday Bazaar. Hosted by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, shoppers will be able to purchase traditional Norwegian swag – including crafts, handmade items, jewelry, holiday ornaments, sweaters and food.

Admission is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Union Station is located at 50 Massachusetts Ave. N.E., and is accessible on the Metro’s Red Line.

Photographers’ Work

View the photography of eight American University teaching assistants starting Friday, Dec. 7 and lasting through Dec. 20.

“Our Photographs: When the Hypo-Check Turns Blue” will be on display at British Ink Tattoo Studio and Gallery on the H Street N.E. Corridor.

A kick-off reception will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Think you might see something you like? Photographs will be on sale.

British Ink Tattoo Studio and Gallery is located at 508 H St., N.E.

Lighting of the Candles

Celebrating Hannukah?

Celebrate the lighting of the fifth candle in a unique way at the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue Saturday, Dec. 7.

The event will feature live music from artists LeeVees and Deleon. Prices range from $12-$18.

The Sixth and I Historic Synagogue is located at 600 I St., N.W.

Join the Choir

Sing along with Handel’s Messiah at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, Dec. 9.

Buy yourself of copy of Handel’s famous work, or bring your own, and add your voice to this holiday tradition.

Getting tickets may be difficult – they’re free, but you’ll have to wait in line at the Kennedy Center starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8.

The event starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Kennedy Center is accessible from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop on the Orange and Blue Lines – a shuttle takes you from the stop to the center, free of charge.
